To Mr.Chola and Ms.Shalini
This is Shyam doing my MS in EEE in USA.

I am doing my Masters project now and will graduate by December 2010.

My specialisation is into ASIC Design and Computer Architecture.

I have been trying hard to find an internship for the past one year, but dint get any.

Here many of my friends those who had references in companies got interns or jobs..This really is a bad thing going on here. I dont think companies really care about their online postings and those who apply through it.

I would like to know about the consultant u were talking about.

To Ms.Shalini: Did u land up in a job?

To Mr.Chola: Kindly give me the details of that consultant.

Hi,

I know a consultant for VLSI from Bay area. But, the fees for the training is high and no accommodation is also provided. Let me know, if you still need the details.

Thanks,
Shalini

Hi,

I am sorry for the delayed reply. But didn't get a chance to go through the forum for quiet some time.

I didn't get a job, but i am doing my PhD now. The market was really bad and i was getting very depressed.

Thats true, that most of the people here give preference to recommendations. I believe that for people like us, who do not know anyone in hardware companies, it is difficult to get a job.

Did u have any luck on getting a summer intern?

Good luck...

Cheers,
Shalini

Hi,

I would be happy to help you. But be careful with that consultant. I joined that consultancy, but couldn't get any calls.(might be because of the recession). I am doing PhD right now.

Think and take a step. Can you send me an email to *******?I don't want to put up the details here.

It was a difficult time for me under that consultant. So, i don't want others to face the same.

Cheers,
Shalini
