Hi All,
Please let me know the market for VLSI jobs in U.S now. I see lots of postings but those are for Citizens. I graduated in December 08 and its been 3 months since i am without a job.
I graduated with Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Missouri. I am from South India, Hyderabad.I have done my Schooling from Rosary Convent High School ( got a State 3rd rank in my S.S.C. In Intermediate i got 96% marks and i have completed my undergrad in Electronics and Communication Engineering. I Received Two Gold medals from my university for being the branch topper and college topper.
After that i got a job in a good MNC in the field of VLSI. But i left the job and came for my masters here. Now i repent about the decision i took.
Please let me know how do i have to look for jobs in this current market.
Thanks in advance.
Regards, Shalini

To Shalini,
After that i got a job in a good MNC in the field of VLSI. But i left the job and came for my masters here. Now i repent about the decision i took.
I'm sure you did not do anything wrong! If you did not find job 3 months does not mean that your MS is waste of time. All you need a little more patient. I see there are lot of developments are stopped due to recession. It has to be continued...Soon are later these projects has to be resumed.
You send me your details I will introduce a CA based consultancy who can help you to find job. I heard now they are recruiting.
All the best!!
To Saurabh Gupta!
I don't think it is a bad idea to do MS. any way you will finish your degree after 1.5 to 2 years. Economists predicts that this recession will end by end of 2010.
why don't you try to do you MS in Germany, you don't need 15-20 lacks. In Germany education is free(some uni will charge very less fee).
Think about it!
Cheers,
With great power there must also come - great responsibility +Stan Lee

The recession might be for another 1 year or so...Mean while i guess you can complete your masters and you can definitely get a job by then i guess.
As suggested by Chola...y dont you try in Germany?
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Regards, Shalini

To Mr.Chola and Ms.Shalini This is Shyam doing my MS in EEE in USA.
I am doing my Masters project now and will graduate by December 2010.
My specialisation is into ASIC Design and Computer Architecture.
I have been trying hard to find an internship for the past one year, but dint get any.
Here many of my friends those who had references in companies got interns or jobs..This really is a bad thing going on here. I dont think companies really care about their online postings and those who apply through it.
I would like to know about the consultant u were talking about.
To Ms.Shalini: Did u land up in a job?
To Mr.Chola: Kindly give me the details of that consultant.
